A Gentle, Fun, Faith-Rooted Approach to Rest, Calm, and Good Mornings

My approach has two parts: the Feldenkrais® method, and Catholic prayer. I didn't arrive at this combination in theory — I lived it. I have spent over twenty years as a Feldenkrais® practitioner, and it was, by far, the most effective relaxation method I ever found — better than yoga, better than anything else I tried for my own crippling anxiety and insomnia. But even with a method I knew was working for me, and for my students, something was still missing, until I returned to my Christian faith and, eventually, came home to the Catholic Church. Together, these two things address both the body and the spirit, and they work at any point in your day — not just at bedtime.

The Feldenkrais® Method

The Feldenkrais® method uses slow, gentle movements to help your nervous system learn to relax. It's not exercise, and it's not stretching — there's no flexibility required and nothing to "achieve." Instead, you bring gentle attention to how your body feels and moves, which helps release tension that builds up from stress, poor sleep, and simply carrying the weight of a busy life.

Unlike yoga, there are no poses to hold and no physical strain. Unlike many relaxation techniques, it doesn't rely on visualization or any spiritual framework outside your own. I've taught this method for over twenty years, and I still believe it's the single most effective body-based tool for calming an anxious nervous system.

Prayer and Scripture

Every practice is paired with Catholic prayer — scripture readings, the words of the saints, or traditional devotions like the rosary. Nothing is invented or borrowed from outside the Catholic tradition. This part of my method isn't an add-on. After years of searching — including a season away from faith altogether, and later a period as a Protestant — I came into the Catholic Church through the OCIA process, and it was the piece that finally made everything else whole. You'll never need to wonder whether something I say fits your faith — it always will.

Why don’t I use AI?

Every word you hear in the exercises is spoken by me — never AI-generated. Whether you're falling asleep, resetting in the middle of a hard afternoon, or starting your morning, I believe you deserve something real, made by a real person who has lived through exactly what you're going through.

Three Practices for Three Moments

At Night — A guided practice to release the day's tension, slow your breathing, and drift into scripture-centered rest.

During the Day — A short reset for the moments you feel overwhelmed, touched out, or on the edge of snapping. A few minutes of gentle movement and a grounding word of prayer to help you re-enter your day with more patience.

In the Morning — A brief practice to begin the day with your body and mind settled, rather than already rushed — paired with scripture to set your intention before the day takes over.

What a Practice Looks Like

Most videos and sessions follow a simple structure:

  1. A few minutes of gentle, guided body awareness and movement

  2. A short scripture reading or prayer, often repeated quietly

  3. Sometimes: music or soothing sound to help you settle, refocus, or begin

No performance. No pressure. Just a few minutes to let your body and mind settle — whatever time of day you need it.
